....today is the day to begin our journey with us...a long road filled with hope and promise of a new family member from Ethiopia. A precious child that God has already chosen waits to come home and we can't wait for her to get here!

One month ago, memories
Nick and I were talking last night that one month ago exactly we were on a plane on our first trip to Africa. We slept a little better last night than we did a month ago as we prepared for this huge trip and had woken up at 2 am. O'Hare was freakishly busy at 3:30 am on a Saturday morning. And I didn't have the body scan until we arrived back in the United States. The man in front of me said he didn't want the body scan so he had to get patted down instead. It looked more invasive and took a lot longer. We were amazed that all our luggage arrived with us but they had opened all our colored pencil cases; wondering what could be hiding in a colored pencil? Our bags of Ethiopian coffee and ceremonial coffee pot made the long trip home, along with dresses and necklaces for the girls. One amazing trip!
