And now comes the fun part of court! We have hired an attorney, sent off the paperwork and have an appointment at the Daley Center downtown Chicago on December 29th. We are refinalizing her adoption here in the United States so she can obtain a U.S. birth certificate and social security number. If we needed a copy of her birth certificate now, we'd have to travel to Addis Ababa to get one! Whoa, that would be one expensive piece of paper huh?
But from everyone I've talked to and heard about, this court appointment is exciting and the final step. All five of us are going to attend and spend the day in the city celebrating. To think that last year at this time, we were getting another set of fingerprints done at the USCIS preparing for our first trip. God is truly faithful.
